Have you tried to find a death certificate? The SD Department of Health should have a death certificate for anyone who died in the state after 1905. You may have to show proof of your relationship in order to get a certificate.

Do you know what church they attended? Have you contacted a funeral home, cemetery sexton, or stonesetter?
