Sorry, I don't know any more about Charlie ELLIS or the parents of Sam ABDNOR. The information was from the book "Early Settlers of Lyman County, SD."

I just checked, but there weren't any children born before 1905 listed for a Charlie ELLIS of that vicinity. There were some Charles ELLIS entries for land patents, but not at Wagner.

Do you think the ELLIS family might have been in America for the 1880 Census that's on the FamilySearch.org database? You might find clues on more recent censuses.
