Hi Christine,
Sorry, but no references to either spelling in the book that I have. Have you checked the 1880 census? Might be a good place to look for them. Sorry I can't help. Don't know where Walworth County is...I think Selby is in that county, but I don't...wait, I just rememberd my road atlas. Selby is in Walworth County...and it's in the north central part of the state, on the east of the Missouri River a ways north of the capitol, Pierre. Hope that helps.
