Hi JB!
Would you please do a surname lookup for me? My mother was raised in Spearfish, Lawrence, South Dakota, and I know she still has relatives there. My mother's parents are ROY VALENTINE COLE (DOB 2-14-1910) and FERN LUCELIE (BUNDSHUH) COLE (DOB 11-19-1916[?]). I know her father's two uncles settled in S.D. as well, PETER and CORNELIUS COLE. Other possible names TUNIS, LEVI, MABLE, JENNIE COLE. Or DOROTHEA (BEHNKE) COLE, I know she died in Spearfish in the 60's. Her parents were KARL and FREDERICKEA (SNYDER) BEHNKE. My mother told me that her gg-grandmother FREDERICKEA had a brother[ANDREW?](SNYDER)who walked to South Dakota along with a group of people and he told stories about seeing dead settlers on the path who were killed by indians, and the brother ended up being well known and possiblY became active in politics. This is all vague information but if you come up with anything on the COLE-BEHNKE-SNYDER surnames please let me know.
Thank you in advance!
