yes, I have seen the census record you quoted below and it is my gggrandfather and his family.I am aware of the spelling, but the line of my family spells the name Scurlock.I think the census takers spelled many names how they sounded and it has made it a little more difficult to find some of the people we look for.
I never had a relationship with my dad or his family.I saw him the first time when I was 6 and the second time when I was 17.He died that year.
I met my grandparents a couple times also before they died. They were prejudiced and I currently met and communicate with my dad's sister. His other sister is very sick and hasn't wanted to have a relationship.
I don't have any pictures of my dad, my mom wrote me, my sister and brother off (out of her life).I think we remind her of mistakes she made in her life.Marrying my dad was a nightmare for her and she said I remind her of him because I look like him.My aunt says she has pictures of my dad, but in the past 12 years, I have yet to receive any.
I have my dad's birth certificate, Social Security application and death certificate.I also have my grandfather's death certificate.I have a photo of a painting of my grandparents and a picture of Lee Scurlock.
I have talked to and written to a couple of Lee's grandkids, my dad's cousins, but I don't really know them and vice versa and they don't have much information further back than Lee.
I am thinking maybe in the future one of the computer literate ggrandkids will come up with information.
thanks for the info and maybe I will come across something in myresearch.
