>>Secondly it has been assumed by everyone that the Elizabeth Scudder who married Richard Edgerton on 4 Jan 1691 Norwich was sister of Mary/Mercy. This Elizabeth died in Norwich 20 December 1762. So if Elizabeth is indeed sister of Mary, it cannot be the Mary you suggest as Elizabeth would have had to have been well past 100 to have been in that family.<< Is this an old assumption about Elizabeth and Mary/Mercy? I seem to recall an article in TAG that referred to the widow of Richard Edgerton, "his aged relict" Elizabeth dying in 1762. I don't know if that was taken from a contemporary source or not, but if it was, it might explain how Elizabeth could appear to have lived to a very old age (around 100)? An interesting thing to look at would be if there were any other Scudders (or close descendants of Mary/Mercy) who lived to be unusually old? Hey, I guess everything ELSE has been tried... :-)
