Sir William Scroggs, follow up

Sorry i did not respond sooner to everyones inquiries regarding the information i have on the scroggs family and the book that i have on the family. The book was passed to me from my father whom received it from his grandfather over 50 years ago. The information tracks the family from the 1100's to the late 1700's in England. My great grandfather nine generations ago was Lord Chief Justice of England. The Scroggs families in the United States seem to come from Scotland and are not decendants of Sir William. This I realize is common knowledge, however the book on my family does branch of in the 1300's and follows the family down another line to the late 1600's. Since I have seen nothing prior to the 1700's regarding the origin of the brothers whom everyone says came to america from Scotland then in may be possible they came from this line. The last entry in my book for this line mentions six brothers and a sister born in the late 1500's. Names were Richard, Alexander, Arthur, Thomas, Oliver & William. the sister's name was Elizabeth. It appears that William had a son John and two daughters mary & Jane. There is no information on the children of the other 5 brothers. If you have any names that may connect these lines in the 1600's and 1700's I would be glad to compare them to my information.
