Manerva Cornelia Scrivner, b. Nov. 17, 1843, d. May 28, 1906, m. Jan. 18, 1872 to Joseph Handley Kuykendall. Manerva was dau. of John Robert Scrivner, b. Dec. 26, 1819, d. Mar. 18, 1896 in Tuscaloosa Co., AL, and Martha Elizabeth Walker, b. Nov. 11, 1830, d. May 5, 1909. John Robert Scrivner was son of Benjamin Scrivner, b. 1770-80, Rowan Co., NC, d. before 1850 in Shelby Co., AL, and Elizabeth Gamble, dau. of Margaret and Robert Gamble. Benjamin Scrivner was son of James Scrivner, b. ca 1741, Philadelphia Co., PA, d. bef. Mar. 1801 in Madison Co., KY, and Mary _____ (Todd?). James Scrivner was son of Benjamin Scrivner, b. June 29, 1711, Bermondsey, Surrey Co., England, who immigranted to PA in 1729.
