was Lydia Bancroft (b. ca 1787, VT, d. 1869, Oneida, NY) a Scripture?

In the will of my great-great grandfather, David Bancroft III (d. 22 Jun 1837), filed in Oneida Co., NY, his widow appears to be listed as Lydia Scipture Bancroft. But perhaps that middle, or maiden, name is Scripture? She was born abt 1787, according to census returns in Vermont.
Any help in solving the mystery of my great-great-grandmother's family name would be greatly appreciated.
