Here is some info I have found on Samuel Scripture. New England Families Genealogical and Memorial: Third Series, Volume III p. 1345-6 Samuel Scripture, the immigrant, was born about 1650, and settled in Groton, Massachusetts, just before the outbreak of King Philip's war. Late in 1675, with the other inhabitants of Groton, he abandoned the town on account of Indian hostilities. He was among the first to return after the war, and his daughter Mary was born there in 1680. He was in Lieutenant Jonas Prescott's garrison, March 17, 1691-92. He married (second) Sarah (???), and both owned the covenant March 30, 1707. His first wife was Elizabeth (???). Children by first wife: Samuel, born at Groton, October 4, 1675; Mary, February 7, 1680; Sarah, February 8, 1682; Anna, mentioned above; Deborah, married, September 4, 1710, Jonathan Whitcomb; Abigail, January 28, 1686-87; Ruth, February 2, 1696; Lydia, June 26, 1700.
