Note:
John Scrimager lived in Lancaster County, PA in 1787, he married Phebe Kezee 8-15-1799. I believe he came from, Scotland(Scrimgeour) about 1753 but cannot get this proven. famhistlw@aol.com for more. My Grandmother was Nancy Elizabeth Scrimager, born in MO.

Collins:
taken from a letter from Lawrence J Willis, dated July 6, 1999:
"....Joyce Collins has made a breakthrough in the search for information
about John Scrimager. She went to
Frankfurt and found an Article of Agreement signed by John Scrimager and
Jared Cowan. Both men lived at
that time (1787) in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County (later Somerset
Co.,) Pennsylvania. She saw some
mention of Mercer County, Kentucky, and since she was near that county,
drove to the county seat.
There she found the marriage record of John Scrimager and Phebe Kezee.
They were married August 11, 1799.
She also read the 1800 Census for Mercer County, KY. and found the
couple living there. John signed his name."
John Scrimager was shown to have lived in Barren County, Kentucky as
early as February 1814, when a ruling
of the Barren County Court ordered that it be certified that John
Scrimager is entitled to 200 acres of land in this
county satisfactory proof being aduced that he was settled on said land
prior to February 1814. This information
was taken from "Order Book #4 Barren County, Kentucky May Court 1812,
August Court 1818".
