Scrantons in Virginia circa 1812-1829
Posted by: Bill Smothers Date: October 10, 2000 at 13:02:08

The following marriage records seem to be for my Scranton ancestors:

DAVID SCRANTON
PRICILLA CONWAY
Married 07 January 1820
Cabell County, VA

WILLIAM SCRANTON
NANCY HARSHBARGER
Married 02 March 1829
Cabell County, VA

I believe the above David Scranton is my gggg grandfather. David Scranton served in the Virginia Militia, War of 1812. He was living in Kentucky for the 1820 and 1830 censuses, and moved to Pike Co., IL, about 1835.

If you know of the above David (& William) Scranton, please contact me by email smothers@dca.net.
