This is a long shot but I thought I would give it a try. My father was Donald Gordon McIntosh, his father was Donald Scott McIntosh. I know that the Gordon family intermarried with the McIntosh's and thus the middle name Gordon. Given the Scottish tradition of using Sunames as fornames I assume the same was true for Donald Scott McIntosh who had either a mother or grandmother who was a Scott. This miss Scott would have married a Charles McIntosh, in Scotland and then imigrated at the turn of the 20th century, perhaps as early as 1870.They settled in Cook County IL in the 1880s and appear to have had at least one son born by 1897.The wife was said to have been born in Iowa.
From what I have been unable to ascertain Donald Scott McIntosh was born abt 1897 and married a Ruth G ( presumably Gordon )from Missouri and through that marriage had two known sons, Donald Gordon McIntosh b. May 1918 and Robet Alan McIntosh abt. 1922. There was another son, perhaps step, who had the name Berard but I am unsure as to his exact surname.
Donald Scott's father was said to have been Charles McIntosh who had imigrated to the US from Glasgow Scotland,possibly by way of Canada. I have a bible dated 1881 with Charles name on it and Donald Scott's death recorded in it.
If your line of Scott's lived in IL or the area and married into the McIntosh/Macintosh or Mackintosh family please let me know.
