I had a note about a George Scott and Martha Gibson. Trying to find if there was any relationship here.
My Gibson family was from Sumter Co., SC, along the Black River,of st. Mark's Parish in the late 1700 and early 1800's. Robert Gibson m: Mehitable Spry, their grandson Samuel Royal Gibson m: Esther Chandler and William Gibson was his brother.
This abbreviated note says:
William Gibson, gr. Aug 11 1794, adj. to William Scott and to Samuel Chandler and William Scott's daughter, Rozanna Scott.
To Wm. P. Brown 372 ac - part to Wm. Gibson, Esq; Homes; crosses Redy Bluff, bd Augus McKay, 68 ac go to Samuel Chandler, Dec 1 1788; 260 ac go to Wm. Scott, bd. Wm. Laws; John McDonell; Thomas Homes, in whole 700 ac.
