This message was posted on the Roots-Web Russell-L Group does any one know of the John, James and Mary as brothers and sister to Thomas Scott b/ 1755 d/ Cumberland Co., Ky There are several Crockett in my Beaty/ Scott line coming from Cumberland Co. Ky to Missouri My ggg grandmother was Sarah Crockett that married William Beaty of Cumberland, have never found her Crockett Family, but feel she was related some how to Robert Crockett of Cumberland. Per Thomas Scott pension file he was brought to Wilkes Co. but Wilkes was not formed until 1777 and I think Thomas must have been quite young when he was brought to North Carolina. He was 78 when the pension file was done so he would not have remembered everything 50 years later. Jerry This is the Message that was posted; The research covers several states. Looking at some of the sheets......"Early Scott Data" Thomas Scott, sr., Md, NC ch: 1. James Scott, 1749 2.John Scott 1751 4. Thomas Scott Jr, 1755, in MD, married Letitia Russell, 1775 in Burke Col, NC 6. Mary Scott, 1759 - married a Crockett (taken from V.A. in DC, June 17, 1938 States covered are NC, KY, TN. "Death of an Old Citizen" Died -- near Sunbright, Tenn Feb. 23, 1896, Russell Scott aged 87 years, 6 months and 3 days, having been born in Cumberland County KY, Aug. 19, 1808. .... father, Sam'l Scott native of Burke County, NC, immigrated to KY to Morgan County. Evidently, there's a big Scott surname connection, and Crockett, as one of the notes mentions being related to Davy Crockett. I only grabbed a few sheets out of the box to send this info, but there is more Russell info in there... later to post. Notify Administrator about this message?
