Hi Jerry,
I apologize up front if you are one of the many Scotts I have corresponded with over the last several years so some of this info may be familiar already. I cannot find my account info for genealogy.com at this exact moment so am responding to tell you that our family of Scotts apparently moved there from Surry Co NC (from what we can tell) There are 2 William Scotts, one born 1755, Rev War vet, who had sons William, Jeduthun, Thomas and some other children. William Jr had a son named Francis Marion Scott about 1829 in Wayne Co Ky although I am not aware if any other descendants were born there or not. About 1832 or so they moved on to Morgan Co IL and after Wm Sr died there they moved to Iowa .
