Hi Ann,
I think we must be 4th cousins. Its been 10 years since your entry so I am not if you will receive this.
Its ANZAC day in Australia and I was looking up my great uncle Thomas Darrie's war history. He was shot in Northern France Feb 1917 in the leg but survived and returned to Australia to eventually live at Victor Harbour South Australia, he never married. His war records dont give his date of birth but he joined up in March 1916 and was 29yrs and 1 month on the enlistment papers,so must have been born in Feb 1887. His sister is my grandmother Alyse Darrie,(you spelled her name Alice) their father was Anthony Darrie of Broom Farm, Ancrum, Roxburghshire Scotland.I found his address on great uncle Toms War record for his father as next of kin.

i have a picture of my grandmother and 5 of her sisters but did not know the size of the family. My nanna married and became a Reavley and lived in Kelso until she came out to live with us in Adelaide South Australia about 1967. She died in about 1974 from Pancreatic cancer. She was born in 17th April 1901 ( I have her birth certificate). She had 2 children Jean( 3years older than dad) and my dad Bill (Arthur Billiard Reavley born 3.3.27). Jean married and their surname is Monkman, she married and settled in Harrogate and had I think 3 boys. I do not know my cousins. My father was in the peace keeping forces in Israel in 1945 and re-deployed to Adelaide after the war. Dad was a motor mechanic . His mothers sister Jean lived here with her husband.( I am not sure if their last name was Eckford) When we were kids we used to visit one of my fathers cousins who had also immigrated here. His name was Tony Darrie named after his grandfather. I dont know what his fathers name is and therefore which son he would have been.
My married my mother Gwendolyn Nicholson April 8th 1950. They had 2 children, my older sister Julie born 7/8/57 and myself Barbara 13/9/60. Neither of us have married or had children. I hope you find that additional bit of history interesting. It was amazing to find something about my family on the internet. My email address is baarb@ozemail.com.au or bjreavley@gmail.com should you wish to reply. Kind Regards Barb.
