STEVENSON in Eckford

In my search for the origins of my gr gr grandfather, George STEVENSON, born about 1815, I have come across a reference to George STEVENSON b. 1816 in Eckford, Roxburgh. His parents were George STEVENSON and Margaret SCOTT. My George migrated to Ireland sometime about 1840, married a woman named Margaret H., had at least three children, Robert Alexander in 1853 (my gr grandfather), Colin, and Amos STEVENSON. The family then moved to Liverpool, where they all went to work in a livery stable, George as the foreman and his sons as horse trainers and carriage drivers. I would love to know if George from Eckford is my ancestor - and hope to hear from anyone who knows of this family.
