Alexander Gray (born c.1680) married Elizabeth Proteus . They were both born in Scotland and lived in Melrose, Roxburgh. They had a least 3 children, among them Alexander, James born July 28, 1702, and Jean. Jean was either James’ twin or the birth date is unknown. Their oldest son, Alexander, born in 1701, married Margaret Thynne, December 28, 1722 in Melrose. She was the daughter of Thomas Thynne and Jean Montgomery.

Alexander and Margaret’s son Alexander, was born August 09, 1736 in Blainslie , Roxburgh, Scotland. He immigrated to America before 1758-1761. He married Elizabeth Fitzhugh, probably before their first child was born in 1758 in Halifax Co., Virginia.

There followed 3 generations sons named of Alexander Gray in North Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Texas.

Help with this line would be very appreciated. I am happy to share whatever I have. Sandra
