On March 16, 1842, in London Township, Nissouri, Ontario, Canada, George Scott, born October 15, 1811, "Denholm Farm", Cavers, Roxburgshire married Ann Telfer, born 1819 in Geneva or Gorham, New York. Their children included John, Adam, James, Jane Heslop, Agnes, Eliz., and Margaret. George was probably the son of John Scott, b. abt 1772 and Agnes Blyth, both of Roxburghshire, but I haven't yet confirmed this. Having first settled, and married in Ontario, John and his family eventually wound up settling in Oak Lake, Manitoba. The surnames Telfer and Batie (Baty) figure frequently in this family. Does anybody have more information about this particular line of Scotts from Roxburghshire?
