Scott Family from Roxburghshire to Ontario

I am wondering how my branch of the Scott family ended up in southern Puslinch Twp.(Wellington County)/northern Beverly Twp.(Wentworth County). It seems William Scott (1813-1895) and his 2 brothers Joseph (1807-1882) and John (1810-1885) started farming in these two areas in 1861 - I've had no luck in establishing whether or not they emigrated as adults or as children. Their brides also hailed from Roxburghshire- William married Margaret Ogilvie (1814-1895) , Joseph married Margaret Armstrong (1807-1882). I've also noticed that many other families from these two townships were from Roxburghshire- Turnbull,Dickson,Jamieson, Riddle. Does anyone have any idea if there is a reason why so many people from one particular area in Scotland settled in a particular are in Ontario
