Millen or related spellings

We are an American branch of the Millen family and our oral tradition is that we originally came from Scotland (likely at some point MacMillan). For some time I have been trying to make that connection. My branch of the family seems to be centered around Wilmington/Mt. Olive NC (USA). My father was Cecil E. Millen, gf was Edward Calvin Millen (married to Mollie Martin?). ggf, Edward Herman Millen (married to Sarah M. Howell), gggf Edward Millen (b ca. 1802, married to Catherine Ann Pickett). This is where I have hit a wall. If any of you have information beyond this, especially about any emmigration of your ancestors to America, I would love to hear from you.
