Hi,

You might find something in the online catalogue of the National Archives of Scotland at http://www.nas.gov.uk/onlineCatalogue/

I selected “Search” then in the “Search for” field put in the words “Melville Dysart Raith”. This gave 8 records which may give you some clues. Don’t think there is a smoking gun, but you never know.
