Your original message is pretty old, so I don't know if you will see this. But William Colquhoun was my ancestor too, and I wrote an ebook, a historical fiction novel about his adventures in New England, his very tragic end, and all the other William Cohoons - Cahoons - who succeeded him, right up to the present day.
If you are interested,go to www.smashwords.com and search for "The Colquhouns in Canada".
Really I should have called this book the Colquhouns in America, because their adventures took them all over the northeastern U.S. and eastern Canada.
I am living in North Vancouver and can be reached at: edreiling@shaw.ca.
I am delighted to hear about your trip to Scotland and your research; good luck with it. I'll help if I can.
