Hi,

One suggestion to obtain more information about your ancestor may be to check the Glasgow Post Office Directories (think Yellow pages). This was how small businesses communicated with their customers. The beauty is that they are all online at the National Library of Scotland, at

http://www.nls.uk/family-history/directories/post-office/index.cfm?place=Glasgow

Certainly worth a try, say Glasgow about 1900-05.

Ewan
