William Boyce b 1798?

Hi.
Research on William has not come up with any results of birth or parents in Ireland.
The family story is that the Boyce's were chased out of France to Scotland but no family story of beening Irish.
So it is possible that William was born in Scotland.
The earliest record found is of his marriage in Downpatrick Ireland in 1815.
So seeking any information that may help.
Regards,Neil Boyce
