Morning Nita
Just come across this Asa Murray in the 1880 USA Census on the LDS FS site-
Asa W. MURRAYSelfMMaleW47NCCarpenter-FarmerNCNC
Nancy A. MURRAYWifeMFemaleW42MOKeeping HouseKYKY
William O. MURRAYSonSMaleW22MOCarpenterNCMO
James MURRAYSonSMaleW18TXFarmerNCMO
Albert MURRAYSonSMaleW14TXAt HomeNCMO
Margaret A. MURRAYDauSFemaleW11TXAt HomeNCMO
Mary S. MURRAYDauSFemaleW7TXNCMO
Betty A. MURRAYDauSFemaleW5TXNCMO
Asa B. MURRAYSonSMaleW1TXNCMO
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Source Information:
Census Place E.D. 149, Wilson, Texas
Note the "NC" connections, the continuing use of ADA; and that ASA Sr is described as a "Carpenter-Farmer"
Gunsmiths would generallydo wood-working as well, for the stocks and handles, so suggesting connections, though not solid proof.
ASA Sr seems to have moved to Missouri first for a short time, before moving on to Texas.
=====================
Looking at some of the Births of the above, Nancy appears to have been Nancy Mobley, but be wary, these are Submissions, without immediate links to original documents.
Parents:
Father:ASA WILLIAM
Mother:NANCY MOBLEY
