Two Ross at Plains of Abraham
I am trying to determine if there is any connection between Dr. Alexander Milton Ross and my 5th great grandfather Guillaume William Ross.
Dr. Alexander Milton Ross b. 13 Dec 1832 Belleville, Ontario d. 27 Oct 1897 Detroit, Michigan, USA. It states in a small biography by George Maclean Rose that his great grandfather was a Captain Alexander Ross who fought at the Plains of Abraham. The captain received land in Prince Edward County, Upper Canada where he will die in 1805.
My 5th great grandfather Guillaume William Ross b. 1732 Scotland d. 7 Nov 1808 Rimouski, St Germaine, Quebec. He also fought at the Plains of Abraham and was rewarded land on the St Lawrence according to Thomas J LaForest short biography about him. William will marry 9 Jan 1764 Marie-Josephe Proulx.
Do you know if these two men who both fought at the Plains of Abraham are related?
Sincerely,
Peter Lagasse
