Afternoon Heidi
This seems more likely, with Janet Keddie, on the LDS Family Search site-

There is a Robert Taylor aged under 1 year old, in Auchtermuchty, Fife, with both a Wiliam and Janet present, in the Scottish 1851 Census on Scotland's People.
And he appears to be still there in the 1861 Census aged 10.
But not directly there in the 1871 Census.
=======================
Back in the 1861 Census, there is a David Taylor aged 13 Auchtermuchty, William and Janet present,
=======================
This looks like Robert and Elizabeth in the 1881 Canadian Census on the LDS FS Site-

===================
If that is the correct couple, it seems that Robert arrived in Canada around 1877 or earlier, allowing for the Birth of the oldest child.
===================
Janet Keddie, if the correct person, died in Auchtermuchty, 1874, aged about 57, born about 1817.
Those two records on the LDS FS site may include her Baptism/Birth, the Markinch one being closer to Auchtermuchty-
5. JANET KIDDIE - International Genealogical Index / BI
Gender: Female Christening: 25 JUL 1816 Cupar, Fife, Scotland
6. JANET KEDDIE - International Genealogical Index / BI
Gender: Female Birth: 24 JUN 1816 Markinch, Fife, Scotland
Again follow up on SP.

Viewing the Images of the OPRs particularly may or may NOT give clues about "The Burns" connection.
