Fleming Surname History Books By F. Lawrence Fleming
Perhaps you will be keen to know that there are 2 new books about Fleming history at Amazon.com
both by F. Lawrence Fleming of Ireland who has done extensive research on the Flemings of UK.
He also has a new theory - with much supporting evidence about the origins of the Flemings of Scotland who were kin to the Flemings of Devonshire who were kin to the noble family of Erkenbaldus a Flemish nobleman who was in the ducal court at Normandy and who's grandsons settled in Devonshire and took on the surname of Fleming.
This family spread widely over various counties in UK and also to Scotland and Ireland, Wales etc
The first book is called
"A Genealogical History of the Barons Slane" (purple cover)
and the second is
"A Genealogy of the Ancient Flemings" (red cover)
A third book will be out in a few weeks and is called:
"The Ancestry of the Earl of Wigton and other essays relating to the family history of the Flemings."(blue cover)
To quote the latest email I received from the author today
"You may find a nice, tasty morsel or two within its blue covers. 145 pages."
Also early next year an historical novel which I assume will include some of the exploits of the Flemish/Fleming family and their involvement in the Norman Conquest of England. So look for it at Amazon late January.
