Wendy,

Robert Shearer married Ellen Foubister in Kirkwall, Orkney in 1900. In 1901, Grace was living with her parents AND her maternal grandparents. Here's the entry :

They were living at 40 Victoria Street, Kirkwall, and the household consisted of :

William Foubister, age 54, a baker (journeyman) born in Gaissay(spelling??), Orkney.

His wife Susan aged 47 born in Auchterless, Aberdeenshire

Their daughter Susan, aged 20, a tailoress, born in St Ola, Orkney

Their daughter Adelina R, a scholar, aged 6, born in Kirkwall.

Their daughter Ellen M Shearer aged 24, born in Rendall, Orkney.

Their son-in-law Robert Shearer, aged 25, a grocers warehouseman, born in Kirkwall.

And their granddaughter Grace Shearer, aged 6 months, born in Kirkwall.
