William, I have two Murray Family resources. The first is called COLONIAL FAMILIES OF THE UNITED STATES,Vol. II, published in 1966 by Genealogical Publishing Company. On page 545, there is a reference to Dr. William Murray, son of William Murray and Mary Vans. He was born at Castle Tullibardine, Perthshire, Scotland in 1692. He left for America, due to his support of the Stuarts. He would be the grandson of Sir John Murray, Lord of Tullibardine and Marquess of Atholl. William's 7th son was named James. Your James should either be brother or uncle to William. Sorry I don't have more on the siblings.
