John Blair was a prominent WS lawyer in Scotland in the 1890s and probably beyond, as head of the firm Davidson & Syme. He donated memorial gates at his old birth town Dalry in 1893.
He had a brother Archibald, who was prominent in insurance and William who emigrated and died in New York in about 1926.
