The assumption is that because only the father is named in the CWGC notice (Commonwealth Graves Commission) that he was the sole next of kin and that the mother had died before this date. Not married. Nothing is listed at Scotlandspeople for a marriage. The 1901 census only list Thomas the father, Thomas P and mother Mary. Thomas Richmond died on 17th May 1931 aged 81 (usual address was 16 Polwarth Grove) son of , as you stated, James Richmond and Eliza Cramner. The death was advised by his brother John Richmond of 40 Stormont Road London SW11. Mary died 15th December 1904 (4 Shandon Crescent, Edinburgh) aged 63 and advised by Thomas Richmond, widower. You can download TPs medal card from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk (Use only T P Richmond and his number) - this will cost £3.50. The extracts can be viewed at http://mysite.orange.co.uk/edinmisc - go to certificates unless you want some things about Ghana etc. Notify Administrator about this message?
