Robert Glasgow, b. 1612 link to the Old Country

"Legend" has it that Robert Glasgow b. 1612 came over in early 1600s from Scotland with his widow mother (b. 1589). My line descends from Daniel Glasgow II b. 1653 / William Glasgow I b. 1690 / Caleb Glasgow II b. 1728 / William Glasgow II b. 1757 / Isaac I b. 1786 and so forth.

Can anyone please help me validate the legend, or find the truth and details of Glasgows which ended up in Currituck Co. NC to Weakley Co. TN.?
