I am searching for descendants of the David MUDIE who came from Montrose, Angus, Scotland in Nov. 1684 with his family and servants and settled in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
David was a merchant and a miller, and I believe he moved to New York (prob. New York City) since its so close to Perth Amboy.
He had 2 living sons according to his will...James and John MUDIE, both of whom seemed to have disappeared.
It is possible they too moved to New York and just got lost in the shuffle there of other Moody's.
Or it is also possible they may have gone to Nova Scotia or New England and settled and again just blended in with the more common English MOODY's in those areas.
Since both names (James and John) are very common, I am hoping someone will be able to help me on this.
