Hi,
I hope someone can help me out with my family tree as the gaps get bigger the more information I gather, and I am sure you can all relate to that. I am more than willing to exchange or give information if you see a connection. This is where I am at.
All the information I have says that this family was in the Roxburgh shire around Hawick and Wilton, although this family may have originally come from neighbourings counties Selkirk or Berwick.
Robert SCOTT B. Abt. 1789 D. 14-02-1872 MARRIED(date unknown)Helen OLIVER B. Abt 1796 D. 13-02-1855.
According to his death certificate Robert was the son of John SCOTT and Helen ELSINTON, although I can find no evidence of this surname in Scotland.
Robert and Helen had the following issue:
Helen SCOTT B. Abt. 1819 D. 18-03-1902 MARRIED 12-12-1852 Thomas GREIG B.& D. Unk.
George SCOTT B. Abt.1821 D. Unk. MARRIED Isabella (Surname Unkown)

John SCOTT B. & D. Abt. 1824
Elizabeth SCOTT B. Abt 1825
Gilbert SCOTT B. Abt. 1827
Robert SCOTT B.25-12-1827, D. 10-10-1906 Australia, MARRIED 21-12-1851 in Scotland Margaret HALLIBURTON B. 17-05-1828, D. 12-04-1926 Australia. This is my gggrandfather and have information I willing to share on this line and any other line that came to Australia (see below). They Came to Australia aboard the HILTON in 1854, travelling with a daughter Mary, the only child to be born in Scotland. They settled in the Ballarat area of Victoria.

Agnes SCOTT B. 31-12-1831 D. Unk. MARRIED 23-11-1855 Thomas BEATTIE B. 23-02-1826 D. Unk. Had the following issue: John, Robert, Thomas, Adam, George, and James
Janet SCOTT B. 30-06-1833 D. Unk. MARRIED 27-07-1855 Walter DOBSON B. 24-06-1840 D. 21-10-1858. Janet remarried Unk. BALLANTYNE Janet had 1 daughter, Helen B. 28-05-1859 MARRIED David TURNBALL 17-09-1889.
Adam SCOTT B. Abt. 1835 D. 7-03-1909 Australia, MARRIED 1867 in Australia, Louisa BOOTH B. Abt. 1846 D. 20-01-1915. Adam came to Australia aboard the EBBA BRAHE in December 1854, travelling with his sister, Mary. Adam and Loiusa settled in the Ballarat area and had the following issue: Eliza, Helen, Robert, William, Robert, John, Sarah, Janet, Agnes, Adam, and Robert.
Mary SCOTT B. Abt. 1837 D.7-11-1925 MARRIED 1858 in Australia, John McCARTNEY B. Abt 1827 D. 1-08-1879. Mary also settled in the Ballarat area and had the following issue: John Thomas, Helen Oliver, Robert, Johanna, William, George, James, Mary Elizabeth, Adam, Ellen Bell and Agnes.
I hope there is someone out there who can help me fill in some gaps and I look forward to hearing from you.
