Hi Julie, Looking at the spellings you mention we see only USA hits at IGI as far as extracts of actual records are concerned. The free search concerning any of your spellings and the derivative I mention below score no hits at all in Scotland - at Scotlands People (the government site). But Entering your “Crunkleton” at the site below shows other possible avenues across the pond (all England). http://www.imagepartners.co.uk/thesaurus/ Go to the LDS site and try “Cronkleton” instead and your will see that this British family seems to precede that of the Crunkletons and the like stateside. In fact there are even a few listed in the 1881 UK Census. http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp - A possibility for your review and consideration…………..
