According to the death registration 21 July 1871 he was aged 49 - Parents: Robert Prentice. Farmer, deceased and Grace Aitken (deceased) married to Eliza Prosser - the death was informed by Thomas Thomson (brother-in-law). This information ties in with the marriage registration of 25th July 1855 Lanark when he was aged 33 and Eliza 23 the births of both parties were unregistered. The images of both events can be had at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk. and would have been sent to you if your address had not been hidden. The parents of Eliza were Thomas Prosser (Merchant) and Janet Gibb with his brother George being a witness.
You should be able to find him in the 1871 census on Scotlandspeople web site for a reasonable fee .
On his marriage he was a Railway Servant while at his death an Inn Keeper
