I have been tracing our Dunn family back into Scotland and have hit a wall...can anyone help?
John Charles Dunn b 1858 Wigtown, married Margaret Elizabeth Blair and moved to Montreal, Canada 1903
His parents were William Dunn and Jane Hannay born in Wigtown (1831-1828) and later moved to Prestonpans where they died
William's parents were John Dunn b 1793 Barony and Mary Gardener, b 1800 Neilston who had children in Stranraer, Kirkinner and Wigtown from 1826 to 1841
John's parents were James Dunn and Thomason Strachan..for whom I have no details
The common names in this family are John, William, George, Janet, Margaret, Mary, Thomason
