Widower Captain JOHN MACLENNAN of the Royal Artillery married our great aunt Mary Anne Mackenzie b1850( Aunt Annie). They settled in 1 Albyn Place, Island Bank Road, Inverness,Scotland and his children lived with them. He'd had a riding accident and was retired out of the army then died in 1901 aged 52. I found his first family on the 1881 census when they were in the Barracks Soldiers Quarters in St Andrews, Newcastle ,Northuberland. His wife was an EVANGELINE RUTH SKINNER born in Sheffield in 1856. Their children were : EVANGELINE RUTH MACLENNAN born June 1884 in Woolwich JOHN JOSEPH MACLENNAN born Mar 1880 in Canterbury GRACE AGNES MACLENNAN born Mar 1881 in Newcastle. She was named after her father's mother GRACE FOX. I believe son John followed his father into the R.A.as there is a picture of a young man in uniform marked "John's photo" though it just could be an early one of his father . Where and when did the first Mrs MacLennan die ? Where did he marry 'Annie' and What happened to all John's children ? Aunt Annie also brought up my gran Mary C Mackenzie when she was orphaned. She was later Mrs Erington ROSS,Castle Heather, Inverness. Notify Administrator about this message?
