Hi Max

There is an on-line census index that covers Moidart for 1841/61/81 on http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ked1/ftwillcen.html

The two ARIS pages include Moidart. You probably need to look also for 'MacDougald', I have found that the spellings of surnames in some cases have been standardised.

Because of the dates that Lachlan left Moidart the indexes won't help unless you have some info on his parents/siblings.

I have MacIsaac/MacDonalds from Moidart in my line, no MacDougalds.

There is a fantastic website for background info on Moidart at http://www.moidart.org.uk/ which is run by the Moidart History Group. It's been invaluable to me in my research.

Good luck!

Regards.

Monica
