Hi, Very interesting. My father said we were related to "Fiddlin" John Carson.
My father was son of Thomas Harrison Spinks and Margaret "Maggie" (I thought Scroggins). Yesterday I descovered it was probably Scoggins. I do not find a Jennie Nora as a daughter. Here is what I have.

This information was taken from the 1900 Federal Census for Cobb Co. Georgia. Although the Bible of Augusta Scoggins McClain states the name of Linze Felton Scoggins (spelled Lincy F. on census) father as Frank Scoggins. Frank Scoggins real name was Sylvanus. His middle name may have been Frank because his fathers name was also Slyvanus. Grandma Augusta Scoggins McClain said she had a Uncle Thomas, Uncle George and a Aunt Margaret on her daddy's side [Linze Felton]. In the 1900 census, Sylvanus claim's he could read and write and was a farmer who rented his land. He states that he has been married for 31 years and was 55 years old at the time of the census which was done in June of 1900. He was born in Georgia, both his parents were born in South Carolina. His wife is written down as Fannie who is a house keeper, 50 years old and can't read or write. She was born in Georgia, both her parents were born in South Carolina. The census states that they had 12 children, only 11 living at this time. The following were living at home at the time of the 1900 census, [a] son George, 21 yrs. old who was a farmer who rented his land, born in Georgia and could read & write [b] son Lincy F. 20 yrs. old who was a farm laborer, born in Georgia and coundn't read or write [c] daughter Margaret, 16 yrs. old, she was born in Georgia and could read & write, had 4 months schooling [d] daughter Marril, 12 yrs. old, born in Georgia and could read & write, had 4 months schooling [e] daughter Fannie M. 11 yrs. old, born in Georgia and had 4 months schooling [f] son Choice, 9 yrs. old.
This information was taken from the 1870 Federal Census for Cobb Co. Georgia. Sylvanus states that he is 24 yrs. old, a farmer and couldn't read or write. His wife is listed as Francis, 19 yrs. old. They had one son at this time, Thomas L. 5 months old and was born in Georgia.
