Good Morning, Christine: You are correct; she was adopted. However, I don't know from where. It is likely that she was from Norway as that little tidbit has been floating around our family for years, but no one has been able to confirm or deny it. Seems that it was something of a mystery as to where she came from from a family that tended to be chock full of secrets! My father always professed to know nothing about his mother's side of the family, but his mother had a Norwegian maiden name, and I often heard him refer to himself as being 'Norwegian and Irish'. His paternal grandmother, Sarah Young Scoggan, who was married to Victor Vicroy Scoggan, was Irish and they were the parents of Tula. I have the Young family Geneology that was completed more than 40 years ago. What other information do you have that you would be willing to share? I am very interested to know what line you come from. I had a contact when I was a teenager, with a man named Homer Scoggan, who lived in B.C. He was a forester, and passed away some time ago, I believe. He had some information as well, and there is a Scoggan in the Boulder/Denver area that had a pretty good Scoggan family tree, but I have since lost track of him. His information traced us back to Virginia prior to the Revolutionary War. As I recall, his information indicated that his grandfather and my great grandfather were brothers. I wish I still had that information. I hope this finds you well, and I am looking forward to sharing more information back and forth with you. Blessings, Marianne Scoggan Logan Notify Administrator about this message?
