Were any of your Scofields ever in N.J. or Ohio, or later in KY or IL? Were they Swedish? I have a Matilda Scofield who was born in either Ohio or N.J.and married Aquilla
Owen/Owens in KY. She was my g-g-grandmother. My mother always said that there was supposed to be a some Swedish in our background, and that Matilda seems to be a possibility, especially if she had been born in N.J.
This is purely exploratory.
