Have no clue if the SCOBEL family I'm researching is related but the name "Mary Gale" in your message caught my eye. As you read thru the following message you'll see the names "Mary Galathiee" and "Marie Maercelite 'Galathiee' " - possibly versions of Mary Gale?

I am looking for information on my great grandfather Luke SCOBEL, b. 1830 - 1847 in Austria. He married Armentine PELAS on 22 Apr 1867. They are known to have lived in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. Their children were: Mary Galathiee, b. 1872; Luke, b. 3/12/1874; Hyacinthe (my grandfather), b. 9/12/1877; Nicole, b. 2/?/1881; Lucy, b. 7/?/1884; Antoinette, b. 5/?/1886; and Antoine, b. 12/?/1889.

Armetine was the daughter of Hyacinthe PELAS & Marie Maercelite "Galathiee" BURAS.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
