Hi Roger, I'm not a relative unfortunately, but growing up Gottfried and his wife Georgiabelle were like grandparents to my sisters, brother and I. Or maybe more like terrific aunt and uncle :) I do have some census info after they came to the USA, and Gottfried's obituary. I was going to drive to KS a few years ago and get pix of their cemetery stones but ended up not being able to go. My mother and father lived in Quenemo KS in the late 1940s early 1950s and were close friends with them. Gottfried was mainly known as 'G.E.', or just 'Lucky'. Everyone I knew of called him Lucky. I don't think I knew his real name until after he had passed. We moved from KS when I was about 5 so I didn't see them as often after that, but they came to California periodically, lived there for a while (Apple Valley area in the desert outside of Los Angeles) plus every time we'd go back to KS when they were there we'd stay at the house in Emporia. Lucky used to whistle a lot, he was amazing, and he would yodel every time we begged him to :) My email is pezealogy@gmail.com you can email me directly and I'll send you what info I do have, it isn't much, wish I had more to send. take care, melissa Notify Administrator about this message?
