Dr Albert Schweitzer was born Jan 14, 1875 in Kaysersberg, Upper Alsace, Germany (now Haut-Rhin Department, France); and died Sept 4, 1965 in his hospital in Lambarene, Gabon.
His parents were Louis T. and Adele (Schillinger) Schweitzer. His brother and sisters are Louisa A, Lulie Adele, Marguerite, Emma, and Paul.
In 1912 he married Helene Bresslau, daughter of the Jewish pan-Germanist historian Harry Bresslau, and in 1919 their daughter Rhena was born.
