Hi Brenda,

Is it possible that your Carl Schulze and my Ludewig Schulze were brothers? The timing would be just about perfect, as Ludewig's son Hermann was born October 23, 1877. I don't know if Ludewig had any other children.

I have written to the Staatsarchiv in Hamburg to get any and all information on Hermann Schulze his wife and his parents (if there is anything).

The names Carl, Hermann and Wilhelm were popular German names at the time, but generally only in the same family. I'm going to keep digging. Maybe we're distant relatives!
