I am looking for any information on my husband's father, Walter Edward Schulz. He grew up around Ringgold, GA and/or Chattanooga, TN.
He was born on May 29, 1920. We do not know his mother's or father's name. His mother remarried when he was young, but Walter kept the Schulz name.
He had two half siblings, Martha and J.R. J.R. served in WWII and Martha married a man with the last name Newell.
Walter enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in Nashville, TN on 17 Sep 1940 and mustered in Nov 1940 at Paris Island.
He married Mary Volkman on 4 Dec 1943 in Baltimore, Md. They were divorced in about 1956 or 57. They had two son's, Richard Evan and Walter Edward Jr.
He also married Bessie P. Schulz, b 25 Nov 1909, d 15 Aug 1987. They lived in Chickamauga, GA and La Fayette, GA.
